I visited the most wonderful ‘restaurant’ recently.  I say ‘restaurant’ in inverted commas because that’s not technically what it is.  It serves amazing food but there is no menu.  The venue is beautiful with great lighting and stylish decoration but it’s actually a barn with one long table that everyone sits at together.  Steve is the chef and he prepares a delicious four course meal using local ingredients including loads of gorgeous fresh vegetables and herbs from his own kitchen garden.  You can obviously enjoy a lovely glass of wine or two with your meal but you have to bring it yourself which is brilliant (and no corkage charged either).

On arrival there was a beautiful log burner roaring away in the reception area (where they have a little shop selling their own homemade chutneys and jams).  We were offered a welcoming glass of champagne (included in the price of your email) which was absolutely delicious and were then asked to be seated.  Jules and her team served us homemade focaccia with a delicious dip alongside our starters of the most delicious carrot I’ve ever tasted with lots of incredible trimmings (Jules is married to Steve the chef and the team are their daughter and her partner).  The main course was pork belly cooked over the open fire in the kitchen (this is how they cook all their food) with super crispy potatoes and two unbelievably flavoursome vegetable dishes.  This was all followed by a pudding and a cheese course - absolutely incredible.  Make sure you wear your trousers with the elasticated waist!

So if you like your food and you are all about trying out a new dining experience with high quality dishes lovingly prepared from fresh local ingredients, plus you’re up for meeting new people, this is the place for you.  What a treat, I’ll definitely be back!  Take a look at their website HERE
