I am delighted to be taking part in the first Ilminster Book Hunt this year.  All over Easter, Usborne childrens’ books will be hidden around Ilminster for you to find with your children.  You can read the book where you find it then re-hide it (there may or may not be some hidden in my little shop - wink wink!) or take it home to read and then hide it somewhere else or take the book home and keep it (but we are counting on everyone’s discretion to only take one book per child)

Reading regularly with young children has astonishing benefits: comfort and reassurance, confidence and security, relaxation, happiness and fun. Giving a child time and full attention when reading them a story tells them they matter. It builds self-esteem, vocabulary, feeds imagination and even improves their sleeping patterns but latest research shows that less than half (45.9%) of parents of children aged 0–5 read with their child daily.

Reading is beyond important so let’s have some fun with it. The book hunt takes place from 3rd April to 19th April so do get involved. For more information, visit Once Upon a Little Shelf on Facebook.
