Somerset & The South West: The fabulous movers & shakers
At Andrassy Living I stock an array of homeware, gifts and fashion from around Europe but I’m also discovering that there are some beautifully made things right on my doorstep here in Somerset. You can now find lots of things in my shop that are produced right here in the West Country.
The driftwood mirrors are made by a lovely retired gentleman called James who collects the driftwood on his beach walks around Somerset, Dorset and Devon. Each of his mirrors is unique but they all come with a little integrated shelf (which is his trademark). Beautifully made with love, these are for sale in the Ilminster shop.
I also stock Weekend Journals which currently are available for Somerset, London and Cornwall. The team at Weekend Journals pick out the absolute best places to visit in these counties including restaurants, gardens, galleries, shops and much more. They are beautifully written and feature stunning photography - the perfect gift for someone who is about to travel to one of these destinations or even someone who already lives there - maybe they haven’t discovered absolutely everything great about their area.
The Southwester newspaper is a quarterly publication that is only available in print (no online offerings here). It’s a newspaper “for the imagination” and shares words and wisdom from the many creators who call the south west home. A lovely publication to pore over whilst enjoying a cup of tea and some valuable ‘down time’.
Lastly, Mimosa and Moss is a local company owned by Charlie who is the talented florist who produces these beautiful natural bouquets. At this time of year, everything is grown in the UK and produced in her studio just outside Ilminster. I get two deliveries of these beauties a week so if you’re in town and in need of something fabulous (and fresh) to cheer up a friend or say thank you, pop in and see me.
